Illustrative example: an invoice app for independent contractors. Your kit is tailored to the app you choose; this is not its generated content.

Feature spec

Goal: Send a clear invoice after finishing a job.

  • Add a client, line items, a due date, and payment instructions.
  • Preview the total before exporting a PDF.
  • Keep an editable draft if export fails.

Screen plan

Invoice editor: Client at the top, editable line items in the middle, total and preview action at the bottom.

States: Empty draft, validation errors beside each field, exporting, and a retry action that preserves the draft.

Differentiate and validate

Hypothesis: Contractors need faster repeat invoices more than more templates.

First experiment: Test duplicating a previous job with five contractors. Watch where they hesitate before expanding the feature set.

The full kit adds a phased build plan, evidence notes, tool prompts, and implementation guidance. It is a plan for your coding agent, not a finished app.

Usage: Mechanics are fair game; never reuse the original name, branding, assets, or verbatim copy.

App Store description

Your Army flight logbook on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Import your historical CAFRS flight data into APART, review aircraft and simulator records, and export selected flights to LogTen. Built for Army aircrew, including pilots who also fly for airlines or use LogTen to manage their flying history. Work on your phone, iPad or desktop. Mac support includes a resizable layout and native file import and export, with support for Apple silicon and Intel Macs running macOS 14 or later. See aircraft and simulator hours for each semiannual period or APART year. Track Day, Night unaided, NVG, Apache NS, Hood and Weather, with aircraft filters and lifetime totals. Review evaluations, academics and currency alongside upcoming deadlines. Start with your birth month, aircraft and assigned duties. Import CAFRS FlightData XLSX or enter starting hours without rebuilding every past flight. Import review shows additions, matches and records needing attention before you save. Browse your logbook by year and month, search records, and correct entries when needed. Review editable hour targets and unit requirements for your aircraft, FAC and readiness. Day/Night, NVG and Apache NS readiness are separate. Add custom evaluations, academics and tasks requiring currency. Scheduled flights and evaluation completions do not add flown hours. Plan upcoming flights in the two-week calendar. Enter a date and departure time, or review name-matched assignments from a schedule document or image. Import runs on your device; check the proposed dates and times before saving. Optional reminders prompt you to check the latest schedule. Export a flight-log CSV, selected flights to LogTen, or an APART closeout form filled with your saved information. Official signatures and unknown fields remain blank. LogTen is optional and its import remains subject to your review. Keep records on your device and use optional iCloud backup with your own Apple Account and storage. Backup is not live synchronization between devices. A full APART backup includes logbook years, profile, requirements, completion results, currency history and settings; schedules and reminders are excluded. Restore shows a preview before replacing saved data. Weekly backups are recommended. APART is an independent personal tracking aid by Dustoff Designs LLC. Verify requirements, currency and credit against your assigned unit plan and official records. It is not an official Army record or certification of qualification. No app account, advertising, subscription or in-app purchase is required.

Build scope

Plan a focused first version with your coding agent. These are planning assumptions, not a delivery guarantee.

Define the first version

Choose one audience and one core workflow. Use the kit to agree on its screens, data, and acceptance criteria before building.

Set boundaries

Decide which secondary features, integrations, and platform support can wait. Your version does not need to reproduce everything in the original.

Check the hard parts

Validate external services, specialist technology, data access, and ongoing costs for your chosen scope.

BUILD KIT DIFFICULTY

Not assessed in a Build Kit yet.

A reliable timeline needs an agreed scope and a technical check. Ask your agent to estimate the phases in BUILD_PLAN.md after that review.
