What is free

Browsing every chart, the app evidence, the revenue estimates and the clone-prompt previews is free, with no account. Verifying an email once (no password, and no newsletter unless you tick the box) unlocks the full clone prompts and your first Build Kit at no charge.

What costs money

The optional Pro plan ($19/month, cancel any time) unlocks Build Kits beyond the free allowance and includes Remix downloads. Exploring the Remix builder and previewing your app brief is free.

Why the charts stay free

Most app-intelligence tools charge $50-$500 a month for this data. We think the next great app is as likely to come from a student or an indie builder as from a funded team, so the market intelligence stays open to everyone. Pro pays for the one thing that costs us real money per use: generating kits.

Disclosure: Affiliate compensation never affects which apps we show or how prompts and kits are generated.

Pro is an optional monthly subscription, billed by Stripe, that removes the free-allowance limit on Build Kits for a verified email (currently 1 free kit per verified email, once). Kit generation still runs within the service's daily capacity, and the charts, evidence, and previews stay free for everyone.

Pro also lets you re-download every kit from your account page, and each kit carries the Rork, Vibecode, v0 and Cursor prompts as files. Active Pro includes Remix downloads, so you can combine multiple source kits with your own feature selections and design references. Remix previews on the website are free. All MCP access requires active Pro, including search and Remix drafts. See the Pro page for the full comparison.

Cancel any time from the Stripe billing portal: open Manage billing on your account page or in the app page's Build Kit tab. Cancellation stops future renewals and access continues through the period you have paid for. Pro follows your verified email, so verifying the same address in another browser keeps it. See the paid plan terms and the privacy policy for what is stored.

Anyone can explore the Remix builder, select features from multiple app kits, and preview an app brief for free. Downloading the Remix bundle requires an active Pro plan, even if all selected source kits were previously unlocked free.

The ZIP includes all selected source kits, your feature selections, design references, and your optional note. Your coding agent reconciles the brief into one build plan before coding.

CloneChart aggregates real-time App Store rankings from Apple's official RSS feeds and enriches them with detailed metadata. We scrape the Top Grossing, Top Free, and Top Paid charts across 24 different categories.

Public charts, app evidence, and short clone-plan previews are open to browse. Every app page has a Build section with two tabs: a Build Kit, an agent-ready folder for Cursor, Claude Code or Codex, and a Quick prompt for Rork, Cursor, v0.dev and Vibecode. Revealing or copying a full prompt, or downloading a Build Kit, asks for a one-time email link. CloneChart then remembers that browser and renews its session automatically during active use.

We also provide revenue estimates based on chart position to help you identify the most profitable opportunities.

📊 Browsing the Leaderboard

The main page shows iOS app rankings in a clean, sortable table. Each row displays the app's rank, name, category, estimated revenue, price, and action buttons.

• Chart Type Tabs: Switch between Top Grossing, Top Free, and Top Paid charts

The Build this > shortcut on an app row or saved card opens that app's Build Kit panel. Review what's included, add an optional note about your idea, then verify your email to download your first free kit. Pro unlocks every kit. A free quick prompt is available underneath.

Click an app's name or icon to start with its overview:

👤 Account

Once you have verified an email, Sign in in the header becomes Account. Your account page shows your plan, lets you re-download every kit you unlocked, opens billing, and signs that browser out.

We embrace randomness by design! Each time you visit CloneChart, we show you a random category starting from a random position in the charts.

Why? Because the best app ideas often come from lesser-known apps that deserve attention. The top 10 apps in any category are already well-known. But there's incredible inspiration hiding in the apps ranked #30, #50, or #100. These are the hidden gems waiting to be discovered and improved upon.

We focus on iOS because that's where the money is. If you're building an app to generate revenue, iOS is the clear winner:

• 2-5x Higher Revenue Per User. IOS users consistently spend significantly more on apps and in-app purchases than Android users. The average revenue per user (ARPU) on iOS is often 2-5x higher than Android for monetized apps.
• $91 Billion Market: Global iOS App Store consumer spending is projected to hit approximately $91 billion in 2026. That's a massive opportunity.
• Better Conversion Rates. IOS users are more likely to pay for subscriptions and premium features, making freemium and subscription models more viable.

Why This Matters for Cloning

When you clone a successful iOS app, you're targeting an audience that's already proven to spend money on similar apps. The top-grossing iOS charts show you what people are actually paying for. Not just what they download for free.

Strategic Insights

• Non-Gaming Categories Are Growing: Self-improvement, health, fitness, and productivity apps are seeing massive growth in subscription revenue on iOS

Will You Add Android?

We may add Google Play Store data in the future, but our focus remains on iOS because:

We include apps from the US App Store across all three major charts:

• Top Grossing: Apps making the most money (including free apps with in-app purchases)
• Top Free: Most downloaded free apps
• Top Paid: Most downloaded paid apps

We cover 24 categories including Finance, Productivity, Health & Fitness, Games, Social Networking, and more. Our database is constantly growing as we expand coverage.

Our "Discovery Mode" feature specifically highlights apps in categories that are easier for indie developers to clone (excluding complex categories like Games).

Our scraper runs daily to fetch the latest App Store rankings. Every daily run adds a snapshot to our historical database, which powers the Trending tab. Showing which apps are rising or falling fastest over the last 7, 14, or 30 days.

The "Last Updated" timestamp on each chart shows exactly when the data was last refreshed.

Our revenue estimates are rough approximations based on a power-law model that correlates chart rank with typical revenue. We apply category multipliers (Games make more than Utilities, for example) and display confidence levels.

Important: These are estimates only. Actual app revenue can vary significantly based on:

• Pricing strategy and subscription tiers
• Geographic distribution of users
• Advertising revenue (not reflected in chart position)
• Seasonal fluctuations

Use the estimates as directional guidance for identifying opportunities, not as precise financial data.

When you view an app's detail page, our AI analyzes it and provides a complexity score (1-10) along with estimated build time. Factors include:

• Category: Games are harder than Utilities
• Features: Real-time sync, complex backends, hardware integrations add complexity
• Tech stack: What technologies are likely required

We also analyze common user complaints to identify "weakness opportunities" where you could build a better version.

We've chosen Rork as our primary recommended platform for several key reasons:

Rork specializes in building native iOS apps using React Native and Expo, which perfectly aligns with cloning the top-grossing iOS apps on our platform. It's literally "the app that makes apps". You can build directly from your iPhone.

Rork offers the quickest journey from idea to published app. You can prototype in minutes, preview on your actual device instantly via QR code, and publish to the App Store in days, not months. This makes it ideal for rapidly cloning and testing app concepts.

The chat-based interface is incredibly intuitive. Just describe what you want on the left, and see the code and preview on the right. No complex menus, no overwhelming features. If you can describe an app, you can build it.

It's simple:

1. Find an app you want to clone from the charts
2. Click the app to view its detail page
3. Open the Quick prompt tab in the Build section and pick your platform (Rork, Cursor, v0.dev or Vibecode)
4. The first time, verify your email with a one-time link; that browser then stays signed in
5. Click Reveal & copy, or Continue in Rork, which copies the prompt and then opens Rork in a new tab
6. Paste it into your tool as the first message and start building

The prompts are designed to give the AI enough context about the app's features, design patterns, and monetization strategy to generate a solid starting point.

Clone prompts are generated with OpenAI's GPT-4o-mini from the app's public store data: category, description, price, rating and typical monetization, plus platform-specific best practices. Build Kits are generated with a larger model served through OpenRouter and also read the app's screenshots and reviews.

Prompts are cached after first generation, so later visits load instantly. A Build Kit is generated the first time someone unlocks it, usually in about a minute; every later download of that kit is instant.

A Build Kit is a zip of markdown files your coding agent reads before it writes code: START_HERE, AGENTS, EVIDENCE (what the store page, screenshots and reviews show is working, and what users complain about), SPEC, a phased BUILD_PLAN, a DIFFERENTIATION map with positioning questions, per-screen specs under screens/, skills for monetization, UI style and shipping, and the four platform prompts under prompts/.

Unzip it into an empty project, open the folder in your agent, paste the kickoff line from START_HERE.md, and answer the positioning questions. The agent then starts Phase 1. The point is a better, differentiated app: mechanics are fair game; never reuse the original name, branding, assets or verbatim copy.

Cursor, Claude Code and Codex read the whole folder: open it and paste the kickoff line from START_HERE.md.

Rork, Vibecode and v0.dev work from a chat message instead of a folder. Open prompts/rork.md, prompts/vibecode.md or prompts/v0.md and paste it as your first message, then feed BUILD_PLAN.md one phase at a time and the matching screens/*.md when you build a screen.

Every verified email includes 1 free Build Kit, once. Unlocking a kit spends it; re-downloading that same kit later is free. For every other app, Pro unlocks all kits for $19/month, cancel anytime.

Generation usually takes about a minute, and the page shows progress; the zip downloads on its own when it is ready and a short "next steps" panel appears under it.

Your account page shows your plan and renewal date, every kit you unlocked or downloaded with re-download links, a Manage billing button for the Stripe portal, and a sign-out button for the current browser. Once you have verified, Sign in in the header turns into Account.

To sign in, enter your email on the account page and choose Send sign-in link. Check your inbox and spam folder, and use the newest email. Each link works once. The form shows when you can request another.

There is no password. Pro follows your verified email across browsers and devices. Signing out does not reset the waiting period between email requests.

CloneChart asks for a valid email address before it reveals or copies a full clone prompt or downloads a Build Kit. Public charts, app evidence, and short previews remain available without verification.

How It Works

• Request: Enter the mailbox you control
• Verify: Open the one-time service link and confirm it on CloneChart
• Return: CloneChart creates an essential secure session, remembers this browser, and returns you to the plan you requested

You do not need a new link every 30 days while you keep using CloneChart in that browser. Validated activity renews the session at a bounded interval. Clearing cookies, signing out, changing browsers or devices, or being inactive for more than 400 days requires verification again.

Email verification confirms control of that mailbox at that time. It does not verify your legal name or real-world identity.

What the Service Email Contains

The requested transactional email contains a short-lived verification link. It does not send the clone plan itself and does not enroll you in a newsletter. It usually arrives within a few seconds; check your spam folder if it does not.

Marketing Is Separate

• Weekly Build Ideas is opt-in only: the verify form has an optional, unticked box for it, and ticking it makes your sign-in click the confirmation, so no extra email
• Leaving the box unticked changes nothing about service access
• Marketing email includes preference and unsubscribe controls
• Older subscriber records are not automatically treated as verified access or fresh marketing consent

Weekly Build Ideas pairs two rising apps and one kit spotlight with useful mechanics and small first versions to try. When chart evidence is thin, we share more kit spotlights. Each email may include at most one clearly disclosed affiliate recommendation.

We do not upload your address to a third-party disposable-email checker. A transactional email provider may process it only to deliver the verification message, as described in our Privacy Policy.
