Neptune has been built from the ground up to provide the most accurate and local weather forecast possible. It maintains simplicity without sacrificing the details that make a weather application useful. Neptune ingests a wide variety of raw weather models from around the world and monitors their forecasts against what actually happens. Neptune's forecast engine creates a precise prediction tailored to your location, and it’s designed to learn and get better over time. After a few days of forecasting and observing, Neptune will publish its accuracy against the National Weather Service to prove it's worth. VOLUMETRIC RADAR Neptune ingests raw volumetric radar data from the leading, most up-to-date sources and displays it against true to life terrain. Watch a timelapse of storms growing from the ground up and use Neptune's radar tools to cut apart layers of the storms at different elevations. Neptune offers both high resolution raw radar data, and pre-filtered radar data. Neptune also offer's HRRR and GFS data all built into the maps functionality for extended visual forecasts and analysis. MAPS AND OVERLAYS In addition to radar, Neptune offers temperature, precipitation, dynamic wind, lightning, and cloud overlays. The underlying map was custom built from the ground up to show detailed terrain features and elevation changes. This allows storms to be displayed at real scale against perfectly recreated mountains and ravines. FORECAST CONFIDENCE Instead of showing you an arbitrary probability, Neptune publishes a confidence band for its forecast fields to display the agreement between the models it ingests. This allows you to visualize model convergence and divergence and get a feel for the true range of possibilities being predicted. Neptune automatically tunes its final prediction; however, it also aims to be transparent enough to show its work. BUILT-IN QUERY TERMINAL If interacting with a UI isn’t your style, or you prefer to have data in a custom format, Neptune provides a query terminal with its own built in query language to access its weather data. The syntax is easy to learn and suggestions are provided for you; however, you can also query in plain text using Apple’s on device LLM to translate it into a weather query and interpret the output. Query historical data as far back as the data goes for your location or put together custom forecasts based on only the fields that you want. You can create preset commands to quickly run a query that you find useful. HAIL AND ROTATION ALERTS Neptune uses leading data sources to warn you of any nearby hail or rotational activity. It monitors the live, high resolution radar in your area to be as accurate as possible and increase its chances of providing plenty of reaction time.
