It does not use Claude, Codex, or any other inference API, and it never consumes your usage quota. • Claude Code usage (Mac): read with the access token you enter, directly from Anthropic's official usage API. Your token is stored only on your Mac, and Anthropic is the only place it is ever sent. • Codex usage (Mac): OpenAI offers no public usage API, so AI Session Meter reads the rate-limit snapshots the Codex CLI itself writes to your local ~/.codex folder.
