Baby Kick Art

Baby Kick Art is an app born from the love of my wife and our first child. While pregnant, she rigged up prototype, electrical hardware and taped it to her belly to measure our child's movement. She eventually had the great idea to turn that movement data into art. This app is an enhanced version of her idea made available to the public so they can share in our experience. This app does not require a login, does not need personal data access, there's no in-app purchases, it's just here for fun. You'll only need to grant access to your photos to save off any artwork. Baby Kick Art uses your iPhone's motion sensor to capture movement of your baby while in the womb and turn it into artwork. Every little movement by your baby leaves a trace on the canvas. No brushes, no tapping, no skill required. Just motion. This creates a fun keepsake to show your children one day and say, "look, you made this when you were a little baby!" Also, we have found little kids have a lot of fun making mesmerizing art with their movement. **Three artistic modes** *Time Lapse* — Soft, glowing circles accumulate and grow over time, building a layered painting you can save when you're done. *Waves* — Each movement rings out as a set of concentric lines, building a map-like composition that grows with every motion. *Fireworks* — Bursts of color explode across the screen and fade away, leaving nothing behind — pure kinetic expression in the moment. **Make it yours** Dial in your color theme with a full hue wheel. Adjust sensitivity to respond to the subtlest movement or dial it back for a more expressive child. Control how wide gestures spread across the canvas. Switch between a dark or light background to change the mood. **Save and share** End a session to save your artwork directly to your photo library or share it anywhere.
