Two task shapes cover everything: Cycles — recurring tasks that reset when you do them. Set your interval ("every 3 months," "every Monday," "15th of each month"), mark it done when you're finished, and Loop resets the clock automatically. Elastic cycles reset from whenever you actually completed the task — so if you're three days late rotating your tires, your next reminder is three months from *now*, not from the original date. Fixed cycles follow the calendar: trash goes out on Wednesdays, rent is due on the 1st. Cliffs — one-time deadlines with real consequences. Vehicle registration. Passport renewal. Filing taxes. Cliffs don't repeat; they escalate. Loop surfaces them earlier as the date approaches and archives them when resolved. The home screen sorts itself. Tasks fall into three zones automatically: Critical (overdue or close to the wire), Active (running on schedule), Dormant (far enough out they don't need your attention yet). You don't manage the list. It manages itself. A library of 35 templates covers the most common recurring tasks across home, auto, health, pets, and finances — so you can add "Change HVAC filter" or "Rotate tires" in a tap rather than configuring it from scratch.
